The 20th annual Taste of Athens Weekend 2013 will benefit the Community Connection of Northeast Georgia, which serves 13 counties, including Jackson, Barrow and Madison.
The weekend will start with the Taste 10K through downtown Athens. The weekend will end with the 20th annual A Taste of Athens where guests will sample local restaurant offerings, bid on a premier silent auction and enjoy live music.
The Taste 10K will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday on College Avenue, in Athens. Registration is $35 each.
A Taste of Athens will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Classic Center, located at 300 North Thomas Street, Athens. General admission is $50 presale/$60 day of event or VIP $80 presale/$90 day of event (VIP access includes early entry to the event at 4:30 p.m., access to VIP garden and a complimentary wine glass and plate).
Weekend group sales are $5 off ticket prices for groups of six or more.

Proceeds from Taste of Athens Weekend 2013 benefit Community Connection of Northeast Georgia. Assisting over 70,000 people each year to find the help they need, Community Connection is an umbrella agency overseeing three crucial services in Northeast Georgia:
•Get Help: Connecting individuals in the 13 county area resources via the 2-1-1 Information and Referral Helpline which provides more than 30,000 referrals to individuals in need of services each year;
•Give Help: Connecting thousands of interested citizens to volunteer opportunities in the community via the Hands On Northeast Georgia program;
•Grow Help: Connecting organizations to resources (including each other) via the Non-Profit Development Alliance, which helps non-profit organizations receive the training, support and assistance they need, while ‘incubating’ new programs to fill gaps in services.
