‘Spud’ Gooch (2-14-13)

JEFFERSON - Spurgeon Ray "Spud" Gooch, 50, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013.

He was born in Athens, the son of the late Donald and Doris Toney Gooch. Spud attended Attica Baptist Church and was a truck driver.

Survivors include a daughter, Lauren Rae Gooch, Nicholson; stepdaughter, Dawn Fleming; sister, Donna "Allie" (Jeff) Wright, Lawrenceville; a brother, Sid (Karen) Gooch, Olive Branch, Miss.; uncle, Dover Gooch, Jefferson; aunt, Dot Craven, Gillsville; and a number nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday February 23, from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held after the visitation and upon arrival of the family at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Purcell officiating.

Arrangements will be announced.
