William T. "Billy" Smith (2-19-13)

DANIELSVILLE - William T. Smith, 75, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

A native of Elberton, he was the son of the late Geneva Rosser and Owen Taylor Smith and grandfather to the late Kicz Maxey.

He worked as a truck driver, Madison County Board of Education as a school bus driver, Madison County EMS, driver for Madison County Towing, as well as the Danielsville and Colbert Police Departments. He retired from the Madison County Sheriffs Department.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brown Smith; daughters, Aleta Nalley, Letitia Smith; son, Chris (Shelly) Smith; stepsons, Lee (Sadie) Brown, Ray (Suzanne) Brown; sister, Mary Alice Bennett; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, at 2 p.m. at Brown Chapel with burial to follow at Moons Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday, February 21. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Barry Maxey, Michael Smith, Chris Graham, Drew Brown, and nephews, Shane Bennett, Jamie Blackmon, Jody Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers will be the Madison County Emergency Services.

Brown Chapel, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
