‘Chuck’ Jones (2-21-13)

MAYSVILLE - Charles "Chuck" Raymond Jones, 79, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at his residence.

He was the son of the late George W. and Lillie N. Cook Harrison Jones of Sugar Valley, GA. He was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Jones, Ralph Jones, James Jones, C.L. Harrison, and Monroe Harrison; sisters, Etta May Blansit and Glenda Tapp; and granddaughter, Donna Marie Glass.

Mr. Jones was a member of the Hudson River Baptist Church and was retired from the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War, Desert Strike and the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of Masonic Lodge 200, St. George, Bermuda.

Survivors include Maxine Mintz Jones, Maysville, his wife of 55 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra L. and David "Dave" W. Glass, Sr., Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Michael M. and Joanna Jones, Maysville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Hunsicker, Warner Robins, Lula Mae Jones, Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ellen Jackson, Hartwell; brothers, Marvin Jones, Sugar Valley, and Lamar Jones, Hartwell.

Funeral services with full military honors conducted by an honor guard from Warner Robins are scheduled for Sunday, February 24, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Revs. Troy Herbert and Douglas Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at the Grove Level Baptist Church Cemetery in Maysville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 23, from 5 until 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Glass, Jr., Mathew Roberts, Adam Jones, Shane Brown and Patrick Sparks, along with a friend, John H. Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters, Dustie Jones, DeAnna Roberts, Marcy Glass and Courtney Jones.
