Robert J. Sykes (2-22-13)

WINDER - Robert J. Sykes, 69, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013.

A native of Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Jack and Kathryn Hall Sykes. He was a retired manager with Wal-Mart and was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Judith M. Sykes; daughter, Debora L. King; son, Steven J. Sykes; sister, Marcy Sykes; brother, Melvin Sykes; brothers, Johnny Sykes and Leroy Sykes; granddaughters, Jennifer King and Janie Stevenson and husband Robbie Stevenson; and a great-granddaughter, Nataleigh Stevenson.

A memorial service was held Sunday, February 24, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Athens with the Rev. Norbert Hahn, Ph.D. officiating.
