CLERMONT - Christine Chirico Lorenzen, 88, passed into the heavenly realm on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on October 3, 1924, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late Clem and Adeline Simmons Mathews. Christine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Most importantly, Christine loved God with all her heart, mind, and soul. She had a special relationship with the Lord Jesus. Her prayer life was constant, as she would pray for anyone who touched her life, even strangers. Always, she prayed for her sweet family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Philip M. Chirico; a son, J. Michael Chirico; brothers, Arthur Quillian Mathews and J. Donald Mathews.
Survivors include her devoted husband, Theodore “Ted” Lorenzen, Clermont; loving daughters, Patty Chirico, Gainesville, and Terri Chirico Strong and son-in-law, Chris Strong, Ellenwood; stepdaughters, Julie Lorenzen, Gainesville, and Navy Commander Jeanene Torrance and husband Hal, Queenstown, Md.; daughter-in-law, Ellen Chirico Seymour, Surfside Beach, S.C.; five loving grandchildren; and three sweet great-grandchildren.
