Robbery suspect changes story several times

A man who claimed to be the victim of an armed robbery at a Banks Crossing gas station changed his story several times

Monday evening, at 5 p.m., the Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Race Trac Station in reference to an armed robbery call. A man advised the he had stopped for gas at which time a white car pulled in behind his vehicle. The man stated that a male got out of the car and jumped into the passenger side of his vehicle, the male then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him demanding that he give him money. During the investigation, the complainant changed his story several times.

“The claim could not be substantiated by video and the case has been closed,” officials report.
