Maxie Pruitt (3-9-13)

CARNESVILLE - Maxie Cleveland Pruitt, 76, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center.

Born May 8, 1936 in Homer, he was the son of the late Noah Lee and Flora Gertrude Smith Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by siblings, Omar Lee Pruitt, J.W. Pruitt, Troy Pruitt, J.R. Pruitt, and Ida Barnett. He was a construction foreman with E.L. Thompson & Sons and was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Bell Pruitt; a daughter, Audrey Watkins, Carnesville; son, Michael Keith Pruitt, Carnesville; brother, Talmadge Pruitt, Baldwin; grandson raised in the home, Justin Pruitt, Carnesville; granddaughter, Christy McKenzie, Carnesville; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Tyler.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 13, at 3 p.m. at the B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Leon Carson and Dale Carson officiating. Burial will be in the Franklin Memorial Gardens North.
