Lillian Strickland (3-12-13)

COLBERT - Lillian S. Strickland, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Danielsville, the daughter of the late Early and Lola Mann Sorrow. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jackson Strickland; two sons, Larry Strickland and Robbie Strickland; and an infant daughter, Tracy Strickland.

Survivors include children, Tommy, Roger and Bruce Strickland, Rochelle Smith and Patricia Morris, all of Colbert; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at 2 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home located at 42 Booger Hill Rd. in Danielsville on Wednesday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence located at 2441 Diamond Hill-Colbert Rd. in Colbert. Mrs. Strickland will lie in state at the church 45 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Andy Morris, Michael Bishop, Wesley Wright, Brandon Smith, Kody Strickland, Roger Strickland and Robbie Strickland.
