BOE to vote in April on consolidation

After two, sometimes harsh, public hearings, the Jackson County Board of Education now faces a decision about a proposal to consolidate some of its school facilities. The BOE plans to get the final version of the plan on March 28 for review and then vote on April 15.
School leaders said they are making the proposal to make better use of existing facilities and to cut overhead expenses. The system is facing a potential financial crisis in the coming fiscal year, which begins July 1.
