Mary Murray (3-12-13)

JEFFERSON - Mary Sue Murray, 80, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013.

She was born in Shamrock, Texas, the daughter and last of nine children of the late Francis Earl and Ollie Camille Pike Schenck. Mary Sue was a 1950 graduate of Kearny High School in San Diego, Calif. She worked many years as an administrative assistant for Poway Unified School District in Poway, Calif. and was a retired secretary from Georgia Tech in the Nuclear Engineering Department. She later was a homemaker and a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Her son, Russell Earl Murray, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Robert Thomas "Bob" Murray; son Steven Robert Murray; daughter and son-in-law, Margie Sue and Larry Dodrill, all of Jefferson; grandchildren, Jason Gladys, Amanda Gill, Melissa Dodrill, and Michael Dodrill; and great-grandchildren, Damon Gladys, Chloe Gladys and Audrey Dodrill.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 1 p.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike McLemore officiating.
