Guy Edge (3-13-13)

WINDER - Guy S. Edge, 98, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness.

A son of the late Bartow and Catherine McEver Edge, he was a native of Jackson County. Mr. Edge served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations. He was a retiree of Pet Milk. Mr. Edge was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Cronic Edge; children, Danny Edge, Ronnie Edge, Shelia Nabors and Judy Payne, all of Winder, Joy Cope, Gainesville, and Faye Ropski and Wanda Braselton, both of Winder; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16, from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Barney Williams officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
