Four people were transported to Athens hospitals after a two-vehicle collision at Hwy.106 and Willis Glenn Road March 17.
According to C.E. Parker, spokesman for the the Athens post of the Georgia State Patrol, a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Lavena Lester, 31, Athens, was T-boned by a 2001 Chevy Silverado as Lester attempted turn onto Hwy. 106. Lester and an infant in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ginger Brown, 52, Hull, and passenger Ted Williams, 48, Hull, were also transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
No citations have been issued in the accident.
In a separate accident last week, Kathleen Adams, 44, Bogart, and Rebeka Perez, 22, Danielsville, were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital after an accident on Dickson Drive in Danielsville shortly after 2:30 p.m., March 11.
According to Parker, Adams swerved to avoid a dog in the road and struck a tree in a 2006 Mercedes Benz.
These two accidents were among the 939 calls received by the Madison County 9-1-1 Center between March 11 and March 18.
Other calls included:
•A vehicle reportedly overturned on Davids Home Church Road in Comer at 7 a.m., March 11.
•Ila and Danielsville volunteer firemen responded to a reported structure fire at 4:59 p.m., March 13, at 238 J Davis Road, Danielsville.
•A barn fire was reported at 6:50 p.m., March 13, at 179 Colbert Grove Church Road.
•A woman complained of head pain after a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 29 and Fortson Store Road at Bill’s Barbecue at 7:39 a.m., March 14.
•A two-vehicle accident was reported in front of CVS at Hwy. 29 and Glenn Carrie Road at 11:46 a.m., March 17.
