Donald Ray McCollum, Jr. was born in Levelland, Texas on May 9, 1960 and died on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
He and his wife resided a short time in Waleska, after moving from Danielsville, where he and his family lived 18 years. He grew up in Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1989, where he served as a medic. He was a poultry plant shift manager for 21 years until retiring in 2011. He was hard working and lived for his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and loved his family unconditionally with all his heart. He is sorely missed and will always be on our minds and in our hearts, loved ones states.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Barbara; three sons, Justin Shanken, Brandon McCollum, and Derek McCollum; one grandchild, Josephine (and another on the way, Cohen); sisters, Deana Williams, Sherry Nelson, and Melissa Tiger; brother, Kerry McCollum, all of Oklahoma.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service to honor Donald on Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m., from the Darby Funeral Home in Canton.
The Caring Staff of the Darby Funeral Home, Canton, is in charge of the arrangements.
