COLBERT - Patsy Dixon Blalock, 65, died Sunday, April 28, 2013.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late George Buford Dixon and Lillian Dillard Dixon. The oldest of five children, her siblings include Frank E. Dixon of Augusta, and the late LaRue Carter, Billy Dixon, and Vickie Mauldin. She worked for nearly 25 years at SunTrust Bank in Athens. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church in Commerce, where she participated in the choir.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Willard Daniel (Buzzie) Blalock; a son, Andy Hoyt Blalock, Colbert; daughter, LeAnne Blalock DeFrancesco, Alexandria, Va.; and four grandchildren, Andrew Blalock, Arnoldsville, Alexis Krause, Winterville, and Robby and Emma DeFrancesco, Alexandria, Va.
The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Lord and Stephens at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, with burial following at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens. The Revs. Grady Jordan, Stuart Lang, and Terry James will officiate. Pallbearers include Mike Carithers, David Garrison, Dale Ledford, Ronnie Ray, Leon Smallwood, and Jason Tyner.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Berea Baptist Church choir or the Loran C. Smith Cancer Center in Athens.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
