MAYSVILLE - Joseph Edward "Joey" Bleckley, 36, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at Northridge Medical Center in Commerce.
Born June 16, 1976, in Oconee County, S.C., he was the son of Wayne Joseph and Joyce Mabry Bleckley of Toccoa. He lived most of his life in Stephens County and the past 13 years in Maysville. Mr. Bleckley was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Bleckley; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Otho Mabry and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bleckley.
He was of the Presbyterian denomination and was employed with Ingles for 21 years. Joey was a graduate of Stephens County High School and played on the varsity football team. He was a loving son, husband, brother, and uncle.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Misty Williams Bleckley; sister and brother-in-law, Christi and George Larimore; nephew, Preston Larimore; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, from the chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Revs. David Keister and the Rick Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, May 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
The family will be at the home of his parents, 451 Fern Valley Drive, Toccoa, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Toccoa.
