A Carnesville woman was arrested for DUI recently after someone called to report that she was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway of a home for a long time on Wildcat Bridge Road with her Jeep SUV running and the windows down.
Angela Denise Babb, 48, 7250 Stone Bridge Road, was charged with open container and DUI/alcohol.
Officer Kyle Roberts went to the scene and asked why she had been sitting there for so long. Her eyes were bloodshot, Roberts noted, she was confused and her hands were very unsteady. She told another officer she did not know where she was and that she was going “to Georgia” and that it takes about “three hours” to get there. She said she had had two drinks of vodka and to just “take her to jail.” She almost fell out her vehicle and began to cry, becoming uncooperative and hostile. A number of small bottles of vodka, some opened, were found in the vehicle, some within reach of the driver’s seat.
In another arrest, two people were arrested after someone called to report that a burgundy pick up truck traveling on Colbert-Danielsville Road had a stolen motorcycle in the bed.
Dennis Cornelius Adams, II, 40, 262 Barschall Drive, Eastonollee, was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession and use of drug-related objects, second degree forgery and a probation violation.
Also arrested was Sarah Katherine Alexander, 23, of 1143 Arch Tanner Road, Bethlehem, on charges of forgery, possession and use of drug-related objects, illegal possession of a controlled substance and theft by receiving stolen property.
Officer Brandon Moss spotted the vehicle and pulled them over. Moss noted the driver, Adams, was shaking so badly he dropped his license when handing it to him. He was found to be wanted in a felony case in Oglethorpe County.
A search of the vehicle with the K-9 unit produced a small black pouch with several spoons and used needles. There were also a number of counterfeit $20 bills in the vehicle.
