The City of Auburn police were assisting state probation officers on routine checks for probationers on August 20 when Joshua Forrester, 27, of Main Street was found to be in possession of a metal propane stand connected to a 30 pound propane tank, along with a copper moonshine still with copper tubing. Mason jars, a bucket containing sour mash, sections of water hose, a large glass jug with a threaded attachment, a metal cooking pot and gallon jugs were also located in the residence. Forrester reportedly acknowledged to the officer that he knew what all the equipment was used for and described the ingredients and chemistry for making moonshine. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and two glass marijuana smoking pipes. The police officer made contact with an ATF field agent and informed him of the moonshine equipment that was found, placing Forrester under arrest for possession of marijuana and possession or use of drug related objects.
