The Banks County High School varsity Lady Leopards softball team seems to be on a winning streak — defeating North Hall 6-4 in nine innings and defeating White County 2-1.
BCHS currently holds third place in the region at 3-2 and 8-3 overall. Buford and Dawson County hold the top spots with the Wolves being undefeated in region play at 5-0. The Lady Leopards are only one game out from the second place Lady Tigers.
Shelby Parson led the Lady Leopards at the plate with five at bats producing one run, three hits and three RBIs. Morgan Rylee added two runs on three at bats. Haley Warner had three hits on fur at bats scoring one RBI. Mallory Parson pitched nine innings for the win with a 0.78 ERA.
The Lady Leopards went down by one run in the first inning to the Lady Warriors but roared back in the fifth inning scoring two runs to take the lead for the rest of the game for the win.
Morgan Rylee scored one run on two hits from the plate. Shelby Parson scored the other run for the Lady Leopards in the win over the Lady warriors. Senior pitcher Savannah Denton went seven innings for the win pitching an 1.00 ERA.
Mallory Parson topped the batting chart for the Lady Leopards with a .447 batting average. Haley Warner took the second spot at .417 and Morgan Rylee is tied at third with Taylor Kennedy with .389.
Savannah Denton has pitched a total of seven games for the Lady Leopards at an ERA of 3.23. Mallory Parson has pitched five games with an ERA of 3.28. Abby Baird has pitched one inning of one game for the Lady Leopards.
