JEFFERSON - J.H. "Pete" Doster, Jr., 82, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013.
He was born in Hall County, the son of the late J.H. Doster, Sr. and Pauline Gilbert Doster. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart and numerous other medals of honor. Mr. Doster was a lifetime member of the VFW and Sons of the American Revolution. He taught music to many in the area for over 51 years and was retired from Mitsubishi Electronics as a supervisor with many years of service. Mr. Doster was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Tolbert Doster; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Marie Doster Parks, Jefferson; granddaughter, Tonya Parks Klitzsch, Hilton Head, S.C., great-grandchildren, Amber, Taylor, and Colton Klitzsch; a brother, Jim Doster, High Falls; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday September 15, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 14, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
