A Winder man, who said he is dating a friend of his daughter, reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office that his girlfriend had stolen from one of his daughter’s friends. He also reported that his girlfriend is spending his money without his permission, although he was unsure at the time of the report whether he wanted to press charges.
The complainant said he allowed his girlfriend to put some of her belongings in his daughter’s house on High Falls Court, Jefferson. His daughter came home and saw a hair iron and a makeup bag that had been reported stolen from another one of her friends, so she took the property and gave it back to the rightful owner without calling police to file a property retrieval report.
The complainant said his girlfriend was now threatening to report the items stolen from her. He said he wanted it known that his daughter only gave back what his girlfriend had stolen.
A Jackson County deputy referred the complainant to Barrow County for a fraud report if he decided to press charges against his girlfriend for spending his money.
