The Maysville City Council is set to lower its millage rates in both Jackson and Banks counties. Maysville plans to lower the Jackson County rate from 1.764 mills to 1.293 mills. In Banks County, the rate is slated to go from .65 mills to .631 mills.
The council will vote on the rates and 2014 budget when it meets on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
Overall, the city plans to lower its budget to $1.26 million next year, slightly down from $1.27 million this year.
