THE JEFFERSON High School boys’ basketball team improved to 4-1 last Friday after knocking off Franklin County 73-39 at home.
The Dragons were only up ten at halftime, but upped the tempo in the third period, burying the Lions in 30-point hole.
Satchel Turpin led the Dragon scoring effort, posting a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Roc Young and Conner McCollough added 10 points apiece.
Dragon head coach Boling DuBose noted that he was pleased to have football players Kendrick Robinson, Isaiah Blake and Rodney Carr back in the varsity lineup to add depth to the team.
“I think it has already made a difference by giving us some added depth,” said DuBose. “We feel like we have ten or eleven guys that can go out there and play for us at any time.”
The Dragons also expect to have senior Willie Taylor back in the lineup soon. Taylor has missed the first part of the season due to injury.
