The graduation rates at local high schools was above the overall state average according to data released by the Georgia Department of Education last week.
The state average of a 4-year cohort graduation rate was 71.5 percent. Locally, Jefferson High School had the highest graduation rate in 2013 at 89.6 percent. East Jackson Comprehensive High School was the county’s lowest at 79.4 percent.
