The Banks-Jackson-Commerce Hospital and Nursing Home Authority — former owner of what is now Northridge Medical Center— will hold what may be its last meeting Monday morning.
An “emergency” meeting of the largely inactive authority will be held at 8 a.m. in conjunction with the pending sale Northridge Medical Center to Macon-based Community Health Services of Georgia.
The authority must discuss and vote on a waiver of its right of first refusal to purchase the hospital and nursing home from Restoration Healthcare — a provision that was built into the contract when it sold BJC to Restoration in March 2010.
Also at the meeting, the nine-member authority will discuss and vote on the release of and indemnity against any potential claims against the authority as a result of the previously approved agreement among itself, Restoration and the U.S. Department of Justice; and it is expected to discuss and vote on the dissolution of the authority.
The meeting is open to the public.
