COMER - John Lafayette Tiller, 75 entered into rest Monday, December 30, 2013.
He was the son of the late Joseph Thomas and Mae Wheless Tiller. He was preceded in death by grandparents, John E. and Ora Cofer Tiller and Henry L. and Belle Bridges Wheless; brothers Billy Joe and Larry Paul Tiller; and a sister, Anita K. Tiller. He was a retired coil winder with Westinghouse for 21 years and Louisiana Pacific for 14 years, and served in the National Guard.
Survivors include a special friend, Freida Mann, Comer; son, John L. Tiller, Jr., Clinton, S.C.; two daughters, Virginia Regan, Columbia, S.C. and Sharon Swartz, Lexington; three brothers, Jimmy Tiller and Freddy Tiller, both of Lexington, and Jerry Tiller, Comer; three sisters, Eleanor T. Smith and Frances T. Forrester, both of Lexington, Linda T. Smith, Elberton; three granddaughters; five grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Lexington with Chaplin Philadelphia Henry officiating.
