The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Nicholson man on Friday for reportedly making terroristic threats through social media.
Christian Alan Saavedra, 18, was charged with one count of terroristic threats and one count of dissemination of information relating to a terroristic act.
The sheriff’s office received information concerning postings Saavedra placed on a social media website. These postings were regarding acts of violence toward students at a local school and one of the Atlanta television news stations. The sheriff’s office was able to preserve the postings and made contact with Saavedra at his residence.
Saavedra was taken into custody and is currently incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail with no available bond.
