The Winder-Barrow High School Swim Doggs turned in another strong meet to finish what has been a standout regular season.
The WBHS swimmers earned a total of 19 personal best times, set two new school records and also lowered some of their previously set state qualifying times.
During Saturday’s meet, hosted by the Westminster Schools, the following swimmers set new personal bests:
•Hannah Smith: 200 free
•Marc Moody: 200 free, 100 back
•Ian Hentenaar: 200 free (During prelims and then finals, broke his school record twice in one meet and also lowered his state qualifying time twice)
•Bijon Mansour: 200 individual medley
•Sydney Lewis: 50 free, 100 free
•Katie Ginsberg: 50 free, 100 free
•Bailey Brock: 100 fly
•Ryan Hendrickson: 100 free
•Natalie Gardner: 100 back
•Ryan Miller: 100 breast
•Dakotah Kay: 100 breast
•Daniel McIlwain: 100 breast, 500 free
•Hunter Masters: 50 free
•Alex Hentenaar: 500 free
“I could not be more proud of all of their efforts this year,” said coach Jennifer Blevins. “They all worked hard, and constantly improved.”
Some of the WBHS boys had to race eight times on Saturday and continued to do well, Blevins said, including Ian Hentenaar, Alex Hentenaar and Quinn McDaniels.
The swimmers are now focusing on getting ready for the state meet that will be held Feb. 7-8 at Georgia Tech.
Competing will be:

•100 fly: Alex Hentenaar
•200 free: Ian Hentenaar
•200 free relay: Bijon Mansour, Ryan Hendrickson, Dakotah Kay, Jack McDaniels
•100 free: Quinn McDaniels, Ian Hentenaar
•500 free: Alex Hentenaar
•100 back: Quinn McDaniels
•400 free relay: Daniel McIlwain, Alex Hentenaar, Quinn McDaniels, Ian Hentenaar
