Banks County roads are covered in snow and ice and residents are encouraged to stay home.
A notice sent from Banks County EMA states: “All roads have accumulation of ice and snow and are too treacherous for travel. Please stay at home.”
The forecast calls for as much as 8.6 inches of snow in Banks County and the possibility of up to ¼ inch of ice.
“Wednesday winds will pick up and children should be watched closely while outside due to potential ice on trees and potential downed power lines,” EMA director Deidra Moore states.
Schools, county and city government and most businesses are shut down for the day.
