A Jefferson yarn producer supplied the cotton yarn to knit fleece garments worn by the U.S. teams in the Winter Olympics this year in Sochi, Russia.
Buhler Quality Yarns, Jefferson, and Clover Knits, Inc. of Clover, S.C., worked together with fashion designer Ralph Lauren to create pants that were sported by the U.S. teams during the opening ceremony.
The designer supposedly received heat when it was discovered that the U.S. teams were wearing uniforms made in China during the Summer Olympics of 2012, so this year, Ralph Lauren decided to source this year’s U.S. Olympic Team’s uniforms from U.S. manufacturers.
“Buhler’s yarn was selected specifically for its very high quality and unbelievable softness,” the manufacturer released in a statement.
