The Braselton Town Council approved the following items unanimously at a meeting held on Feb. 17:
•an amendment to allow the terms “corkage” and “growlers” into the town’s alcohol ordinance.
•new alcohol beverage licenses for Linda Thacker from Hometown Pizza & Pasta, LLC., and for a Circle K at the intersection of Hwy. 124 and Hwy. 211.
•an application for a 2014 Historic Preservation Fund CLG Development Grant for $52,365 to make erosion repairs to the Braselton Downtown Director’s office, which is located in a building that previously housed the Braselton Library and before that was the old home economics building for Braselton High School.
•a bypass of the bid process to award a $129,855 contract to Layne Inliner, LLC, Tucker, for emergency sewer line repairs in the Shumard Oaks area of Chateau Elan.
•a request by RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. to abandon a water line on the property where it plans to build a new gas station. The property is located next near the I-85 exit of Hwy. 53. An old waterline easement runs through the property that the town no longer uses.
