THE JEFFERSON boys' track and field team won six events to finish atop the team standings at the 51st annual Jefferson Relays Saturday.
The Dragons tallied 190.5 points to finish ahead of second-place Berkmar (154.5) in the seven-team event. Elbert County was third with 103 points.
The Jefferson boys got first-place finishes in the field events from Ethan Hix (shot put) and Mason Hamrick (pole vault). The Dragons also won four relay events — the sprint medley relay (Satchel Turpin, Rodney Carr, T.J. Skelton and Tradd Porter; 3:49.25), the distance medley relay (Josh Reid, Gage Lawson, Taylor Hitt and Max Higgins; 11:58.28), the 4 x 1,600 meter relay (Higgins, Alex Parrish, Hitt and Jacob Adams; 20:17.50) and the 4 x 800 meter relay (Parrish, Jacobs, Reid and Higgins; 9:00.17).
The Jefferson girls finished second in the team standings, winning the pole vault (Abby Carson) and the 4 x 1,600 meter relay (Reese Bowles, Kelsey Reschley, Libby D'Antonio and Morgan Mitchell; 26:53.17).
The Jefferson girls finished with 138 points. Berkmar won the event with 174 points. North Springs took third with 67 points.
Jefferson returns to action Tuesday against Apalachee and North Hall at home.
