The Jackson County baseball team (10-3, 1-1) avenged a 10-1 loss to Oconee County two days ago with a 3-1 win over the Warriors Wednesday night at home.
Andrew Fogarty (3-1) threw a complete game, surrendering one run on four hits and striking out five. He also went 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
Several Panthers contributed offensively. Nick Corso went 2-for-3 with two runs; Joel Ellis was 1-for-3 with an RBI; Ty Smith went 1-for-1 and an RBI; and Patrick Overstreet was 1-for-2 with a double, walk and RBI. Ben Brissey and Jacob Banks also had doubles.
Jackson County starts a two-game series with Morgan County Friday when the Panthers host the Bulldogs at 5:55 p.m. Jackson County will then travel Monday to face Morgan County at 5:55 p.m.
