The Braselton Community Improvement District (CID) Board held an election Monday and re-elected Terry Evans to the Post 5 member seat he has held since August of 2012. Evans is president and CEO of Independence Bank in Braselton.
Voting board members included Scott Snedecor (chairman), Peggy Slappey, Phil Christian and Jennifer Dees. Board members Denzil Wasson and Mary Neuman were not present at the meeting.
The Braselton Community Improvement District (CID) board of directors is a group of non-residential property owners who own property along Ga. Hwy. 211 who agreed on a self-imposed tax to fund projects in the district. The Braselton CID was formed in 2011 with two appointed and five elected seats. The board meets monthly on Mondays at 3740 Village Way, upstairs in ACE Hardware.
In 2011, Post 1 and 3 seats were elected to 1-year terms; Post 2 and 4 seats were elected to 2-year-terms; and the Post 5 seat was elected to serve for 3 years. All re-elected members then serve four-year-terms.
