THE JACKSON County Comprehensive High School track and field teams had four athletes qualify for the state track meets during Saturday’s state sectional at East Jackson Comprehensive High School.
Destiny Gaudlock qualified from the girls’ team, placing eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 32-10.25.
For the boys’ team, Todd Woodring qualified in two events, placing second in the 400 meters (49.28 seconds) and third in the 200 meters (22.44 seconds).
In the high jump, Layson Giles secured a spot at state with a second-place finish (6-2).
Hurdler Nick Stovall also punched his ticket to state, qualifying in the 110-meter hurdles with a sixth-place finish (16.09 seconds).
The girls’ state meet is Thursday through Saturday in Albany. The boys’ state meet runs from May 8-10 in Jefferson.
