Braselton police officers recently initiated a traffic stop for an invalid license plate. The driver of the vehicle, Andre Santiago Torres, was arrested for fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while driver’s license is suspended or revoked, operation of an unregistered vehicle or vehicle without current license plate, revalidation decal or county decal and no insurance.
After officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, Torres allegedly began to speed up and ran a stop sign. The vehicle came to a stop at the Golden Pantry.
Torres allegedly told officers that the clutch in the vehicle was stuck and he did not know how to drive a stick shift, which was the cause of his driving.
