Winder city officials on Thursday will have the first of two public hearings about the city government’s fiscal year 2015 budget.
Both the May 15 public hearing and the May 22 public hearing will be at 6 p.m. at the Winder Community Center on East Athens Street. The Winder City Council is scheduled to adopt the annual spending plan June 3. The document is posted on the city’s website at www.cityofwinder.com.
For the fiscal year beginning July 1, the new budget projects more than $34 million in revenues — about $3.7 million more than the current fiscal year — and $30.4 million in operating expenditures, which is $3.4 million more than in FY2014.
The vast majority of the additional revenue would be from utilities fees.
