Winder city officials tonight will have the first of two public hearings about the city government’s fiscal year 2015 budget.
The location of tonight's 6 p.m. public hearing has been changed, according to a notice received just before noon today. The meeting will be on the second floor of City Hall.
The second hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. May 22 at the Winder Community Center. The Winder City Council is scheduled to adopt the annual spending plan June 3. The document is posted on the city’s website at www.cityofwinder.com. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, the new budget projects more than $34 million in revenues — about $3.7 million more than the current fiscal year — and $30.4 million in operating expenditures, which is $3.4 million more than in FY2014. The vast majority of the additional revenue would be from utilities fees.
