MAYSVILLE - Corey Patrick Phagan, 25, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his residence.
He was born June 6, 1988, in Athens, the son of Keith and Bonnie Phagan of Maysville. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Phagan was preceded in death by a sister, Courtney Phagan; and grandfathers, Willis Hoke Leach and Ray A. Phagan. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and turkey hunting with his father. He had more friends than his yard would hold at his house. He loved both his sisters, Kayla and Courtney, with all his heart, enjoyed working in the yard with his mama Bonnie, and loved driving tractors and riding four wheelers. He followed the tradition of eating out once a week every week with his mama and daddy. He would ride jet skis with his sister Kayla, even in the wintertime. He was a mama’s boy and had adopted his granny and grandpa, Sally and Richard.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a sister, Kayla Mae Phagan, Maysville; grandmother, Etta Jane Leach, Commerce; grandparents, Sally and Richard Miller, Lula; grandmother, Margie Phagan; uncles, Jeff Phagan, Cleveland, and Chris Phagan, Commerce; aunt, Susan Pruitt, Maysville; aunts, Lorna Lester, Commerce, Teresa Cullinan, Winder, Tracy Ramirez, Jefferson, and Tanya Barrett, Danielsville; cousins, Shannon Phagan, Cleveland, Christa Phagan, Commerce, Chelsea Pruitt, Maysville, Michelle Wood, Commerce, Scott Lester, Pendergrass, Drake, Ben and Sarah Cullinan, Winder, M.J. Leftwich and Anna Ramirez, Jefferson, and Lyla Barrett, Danielsville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 25, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Interment was in Alta Vista Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Park Funeral Home to help take care of expenses.
