Four teachers recently laid off by Jackson County Schools have already been hired back to the system for next school year. Superintendent April Howard said additional resignations have allowed for the rehires.
“It’s always bittersweet when you lose folks, but (when) they vacate positions it allows us to be able to extend an offer,” she said.
The board of education met Thursday, May 22, and approved the following employees:
•Nancy Boronat, elementary teacher, system
•Kim Marsden, middle grades teacher, system
•Ellen Smith, elementary teacher, system
•Debra Williams, elementary teacher, system
•Blayne Gilmer, special education teacher, JCCHS (replacement)
