ARCADE leaders plan to mull over the city’s comprehensive plan and want to do so with the assistance of a regional agency.
The city council has tentatively scheduled a retreat with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission (NEGRC) for July 2 at 4 p.m. at city hall to review the city’s comprehensive plan, which is due to the state at the end of October.
“It’s time to update that, so we might as well just get on it,” Arcade mayor Doug Haynie said.
One of the issues that could be discussed at the meeting is how big and sprawling the city wants to grow. Arcade has already annexed several large tracts of land south of the town in hopes of bringing in a large development.
