After an outcry from local library patrons, the Statham City Council agreed Tuesday night to restore part of the funds it planned to cut from the library.
The council agreed to allot $14,000 back to the library to help pay its bills until October. At that time, Statham leaders plan to lobby the county government for it to help fund the city’s library.
The action was part of the council’s final action to approve its FY2015 budget. The $1.2 million budget is up slightly over last year.
