GAINESVILLE - Amelia Lucille Murphy, 89, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She was born July 5, 1924, in Braselton, the daughter of the late Herschel Davis and Carrie Deaton Davis. She was retired from Deep South Products and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Murphy; brothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild, Adrian Murphy.
Survivors include her children, Frank Murphy, Pendergrass, Bobby (Ann) Murphy, Talmo, Martha Owen, Gainesville, Mary (Garry L.) Kesler, Gainesville, and Tricia (Al) Atkins, Flowery Branch; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Davis, Braselton; and her special friend, Dola Thomas, Gainesville.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment following in Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. The Revs. Brian Malcom and Ronnie Wales, and Dr. Mark Spence officiated.
