A former investigator with the City of Baldwin Police Department has been charged with several child sex crimes in Banks County.
Stephen Floyd Alexander, 39, 270 Railroad Avenue, Lula, was arrested late Tuesday night, July 1, by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office for the charges of aggravated child molestation (two counts), aggravated sodomy (two counts) and false imprisonment (two counts).
BCSO Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said, “Details are limited due to the ongoing investigation.”
In addition to previously working with Baldwin, Alexander has also worked with the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the BCSO with processing evidence located during service of a search warrant and conducting interviews throughout the region.
“Further charges are pending,” McFaddin said. Alexander is being held in the Banks County Jail without bond.
