The BOC approved a 12-month contract with Bureau Veritas NA Inc. to provide the services.
After Jefferson ended its permit inspections with the county in November, the county outsourced the process to Bureau Veritas of Kennesaw on a 90-day contract. The private firm gets 75 percent of the permit and inspection money collected for a county.
The county recently took bids from private firms interested in providing services with five companies responding.
