The state department of education last week released CRCT results for the individual schools in the Jackson County School District.
Of all test takers, fifth grade students at Gum Springs Elementary School had zero fail rates in reading and English Language Arts, and math, science and social studies fail rates below two percent. Benton Elementary School fifth graders also had a zero fail rate in English Language Arts, as did East Jackson Elementary School fifth grades on the reading test. North Jackson Elementary School fourth graders had no failures on the reading test, either.
The highest fail rate was in fifth grade math with 24.1 percent of students at South Jackson Elementary School failing the test. The second highest fail rate was in sixth grade science with 20.5 percent failing the test at East Jackson Middle School.
Fail rates in the double-digits included: third grade math, science and social studies; fourth grade math and science; fifth grade math and social studies; sixth grade math, science and social studies; and eighth grade math, science and social studies.
