A residence on Cooper Farm Road in Nicholson was heavily damaged by a fire late Monday night.
Fire departments from Nicholson, Commerce and the Jackson County Correctional Institute arrived at 2286 Cooper Farm Road just before midnight to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a single-family residence.
They quickly extinguished the fire, but there was heavy damage to the building’s interior.
Reports indicated that the residence was vacant. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nicholson Fire Department.
There were no injuries.
