After the recent resignation of Parks and Leisure director Rafael Avalos, Auburn city officials continue to debate the merits of having a parks and leisure department versus abolishing the department’s director position and distributing duties to other employees.
At a work session held Thursday, mayor Linda Blechinger reported she met with city employee Charlotte Ewing to discuss how she is dealing with her normal assigned duties and the additional duties placed upon her since the resignation of Avalos.
“We are trying to understand what needs to take place,” said Blechinger, “I don’t feel like I have a clear solution.”
