A woman who admitted to consuming five beers, ordered her son to smash his sister’s cell phones and, when the 17-year-old girl went to stay with a friend for the night, dumped all of her belongings out in the yard, according to a Commerce Police Department incident report.
Police responded to residence where a 36-year-old white female said she’d gotten into an argument with her daughter and had “taken her things” as punishment. The two argued more, and the girl left and subsequently called the police.
The mother told police that there were no blows exchanged and volunteered that she’d consumed five Bud Ice beers.
When the girl returned, she told officers that her mother had been drinking all day, had become mad and decided to take the daughter’s phones away and have her brother smash them. The girl said she tried to stop the boy, but her mother grabbed her and she ran off to find a phone to call police.
The boy, whose age was not provided, confirmed that his mother told him to smash the phones with an iron skillet. Another child in the house confirmed that as well.
After consulting by phone with her father, the girl left to spend the night with a friend. Later, the officer reported, he learned that the woman had texted her daughter to say that all of her belongings were moved outside.
