Will anyone beat the mayor and her team who conquered the first Scarecrow Team Competition in 2013 with a UGA football player plunging an LSU player down a commode? They took home, or to the mayor’s office, their trophy and plan to earn the second one this year and offers a challenge to any team to try to beat them.
The Hoschton Women’s Civic Club and the West Jackson Fire Department will compete again this year and a few other teams are contemplated their strategies for the big event. All a family, business or group has to do is sign up, pay the entry fee and bring the clothing, hat, scissor, etc. Stakes, twine and newspapers for stuffing will be provided. Everything else must be provided by the team.
The second annual Scarecrow Team Competition will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 2:30 p.m. at the main stage on the City Square.
Registration forms are available on the website www.cityofhoschton.com. The challenge is on and the deadline to enter is September 20 at 4 p.m.
